I hate this city....
... turns out a city inspector went here while i was at work. And apparently, they decided that the driveway i've been working on isn't allowed according to city laws.

Also decided that since we don't have a garrage anymore, we're not allowed to have a driveway at all.

Also decided that since we don't have any parking space on the property, we're not allowed to have multiple vehicles.

Also decided that my motorhome and vista cruiser were too large to be parked on city streets.

Also that they didn't look nice enough and could lower property value, so had to go.

And apparently, the Safari is also not legal to keep unless it's entirely fixed up and moved daily.

And we apparently have 10 days to fix things.

Oh, and apparently our property isn't large enough to have a parking space now.

And i'm still totally broke.

... this honestly is close to the worst thing that could have happened. *sighs*

I want to get away from these stupid cities and their laws.

*merfs and curls up*

Is there any way to legally fight this?

This doesn't sound legal...I don't see how someone can just "decide" that you are in violation...

Sounds like a certain inspector has lax in his duties and took it out on you to make himself look important.

I still think what's happening to Pyx is BS, but I'm just going to play devil's advocate for a moment.

The laws are what they are. He could well have been in violation for a long time now, but generally an inspector won't come by unless there's a complaint. What likely happened is that one of his neighbors called to complain about something and, once the inspector came by, he found all sorts of other things to write citations about. So, in other words, while things are only illegal if you get caught, Pyx just got caught for everything they possibly could have caught him over.

*takes off the lawyer devil's outfit* As someone else suggested, I hope he can fight this and, at the very least, tie it up in court long enough that the city gives up on pursuing it. It's more than a bit stupid that they'd throw so many things at him at once and expect him to remedy all of it in less than a week's time.

Good luck, I think this is a weird situation, good luck with it.

If you can somehow get them into a legal situation which requires a looooot of paperwork, they might end up forgetting about it.
